Used to cook typically Mediterranean dishes, especially clams and seafood in general, the cooking process used by the CATAPLANA prevents the loss of the ingredients, ensuring full and excellent flavour. Furthermore, cooking in the CATAPLANA is healthier since the recipes use less fat, and thus contain fewer calories. The typical copper Cataplana (tinned interior), like ours, distributes the heat more evenly and efficiently. This high quality copper cataplana model is totally handcrafted by our artisans. Being hand hammered is also manually tinned like it demands the old tradition. It is made with high quality copper and high thickness, between 1,5mm and 2mm in the bigger sizes, becoming in this case a very robust cataplana. A trully masterpiece that uses all the knowledge and dedication of our best craftsmen. About the available sizes, we have the following: Ø 19cm (1 person); Ø 22cm (1 to 2 persons); Ø 26cm (2 to 3 persons); Ø 31cm (3 to 5 persons); Ø 36cm (6 to 8 persons); Ø 45cm (13 to 15 persons); Ø 60cm (23 to 25 persons); Ø 70cm (29 to 31 persons) and Ø 86cm (more than 40 persons).
